Pull here, tighten there, “how can we make you look smaller?”, the ultimate goal, make a woman look as tiny and frail as possible to make sure the man looks big and manly.

In DanceSport, words shape more than movement — they shape identity. Why are we still telling girls to follow and boys to decide? As teachers, our language matters. Let’s stop reinforcing outdated roles!
